New Landscaping Installed On 441

The landscaped area along State Road 7/441 is being dramatically upgraded to include aesthetic landscape architecture, beautiful palms, and the addition of colorful plants and flowers to create beauty along the roadside perimeter of our community, the premiere Boca Raton country club.

Golf Course Renovations On-Schedule

The golf course renovations are well underway!  

Work is being done on one course at a time.  Both golf courses will be open for play during the upcoming fall/winter season. 
 
A new irrigation system will be installed.  The greens on both golf courses will be replaced with a modern hybrid putting surface to provide optimum playability. The tee boxes on both courses will be enlarged and re-surfaced. The sand bunkers will be enhanced with new high-quality sand and the cart paths will be restored.

Tennis Professional Wins Championship

Geoffrey Moore, our renowned USPTA Director of Tennis, recently won the Men’s 50+ USPTA national clay court doubles title played at Ibis Country Club in West Palm Beach.  Geoff also has represented the U.S.A. in eight international competitions.  Recently, he attended a premier educational forum for tennis-teaching professionals at the United States Tennis Association Florida Division convention.  Boca Woods,  is proud to have one of the nation’s most active and competitive tennis professionals on our team at Boca Woods Country Club, the premiere Boca Raton country club.

Big Band Entertainment For The Members

Boca Woods is home of the Boca Bagel Band, a big band ensemble that we proudly call our house band.  The Boca Bagel Band is comprised of members, some of whom are well-known musicians that previously played in famous venues and music halls throughout their career. The big band is a type of musical ensemble associated with jazz, a style of music which became popular during the Swing Era of the early 1930s until the late 1940s.

W.G.A. Helping Haiti

This year’s theme is “The Gift of Giving.”  The Women’s Golf Association devoted their season closing event to Helping Haiti. The Women’s Golf Association (WGA) partnered with Food For The Poor, the largest international relief organization in the United States. Disaster relief supplies were generously donated by Boca Woods Members and then shipped to Haiti to aid in earthquake recovery.

Boca Woods Executive Chef Dominick Laudia, teaches at West Boca High’s Culinary Arts Academy.  One of his students, Paige DeSimone, is one of four students from Florida, Georgia and North Carolina who will face-off in the American Culinary Federations’s Southeast Region Student Chef of the Year Competition.

Collegiate Golf at Boca Woods Country Club

 

Lynn University Women's Golf Team

 

Boca Woods recently hosted the Lynn University v. Harvard women’s golf match (Lynn 326, Harvard 298).  The collegiate teams played the Lakes course at 6,050 yards. 

On April 24th, Boca Woods will again partner with Lynn University for a shotgun golf tournament followed by a poolside tropical buffet dinner with steel drum entertainment.  Boca Woods Members will have a chance to play with the Lynn Women’s Golf Team.  The event will benefit Boca Woods Chapter of PapCorps.

Managers, Sandy McGaughey and Jon Wilke

With a combined 50+ years of club management experience, Jon Wilke, CCM joins Sandy McGaughey, MCM, CCE, CAM as Clubhouse Manager at Boca Woods Country Club. This dynamic management team, coupled with new additions in the kitchen, will ensure that Boca Woods Members have every reason to take a renewed pride in their Club. Jon brings 17 years of Palm Beach County private club experience to the Club while Sandy has been a General Manager of a private club either in St Louis or in Palm Beach County since 1978. Sandy holds the coveted Master Club Manager designation (only 15 worldwide) while Jon is a Certified Club Manager. Whether it’s special events, member dining, and private parties or sports management, this duo will deliver top-notch experiences.
